Sizzling Lion's Mane Mushroom Steaks π
Golden, crispy, meaty, and absolutely DELICIOUS!

One of the BEST things about Lion's Mane mushrooms, aside from their amazing brain-boosting potential, is just how DELICIOUS they are!
When pressed and seared in a hot cast-iron skillet, these beautiful mushrooms transform into sizzling, golden steaks with crispy edges, a tender, meaty texture, and incredible flavor.
Seriously, if you haven't tried Lion's Mane steaks yet, you're in for a treat!
Here's how we make ours:
KEY STEPS FOR PERFECT LION'S MANE STEAKS
What You'll Need π
Fresh Lion's Mane mushrooms
Grapeseed oil or olive oil
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Your favorite fresh or dried herbs
Optional: Vegan butter, teriyaki sauce, balsamic glaze, chimichurri, or BBQ sauce
1. Prep Your Mushrooms π
Trim the base of each Lion's Mane mushroom so it sits flat.
Using a serrated knife, carefully slice the mushrooms into ΒΎ- to 1-inch-thick steaks.
Lion's Mane has a naturally beautiful, shaggy texture that becomes wonderfully tender and meaty when cooked!
2. Press & Sear π
Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat and add a little grapeseed or olive oil.
Place your mushroom steaks in the hot skillet and press down firmly using a heavy pan or lid.
Let them cook for approximately 5β6 minutes, pressing to release excess moisture and help develop that delicious golden crust.
The secret is in the PRESS! This is what helps transform fluffy Lion's Mane into beautifully seared, steak-like goodness.
3. Flip & Finish π
Carefully flip your mushroom steaks and press again.
Cook for approximately 5 more minutes, until both sides are beautifully browned and crispy.
You're looking for a gorgeous golden sear, crispy edges, and a tender, juicy center.
4. Season & Serve π
Finish with salt, freshly ground black pepper, and your favorite herbs.
We love adding fresh herbs for a little extra earthy flavor and a beautiful finishing touch.
5. Make It Your Own! ππ
Want to take your Lion's Mane steaks to the next level?
Try basting them with vegan butter or finishing them with your favorite sauce or glaze.
Some delicious possibilities include:
Teriyaki for a savory-sweet finish
Balsamic glaze for rich, tangy goodness
Chimichurri for a fresh, herby kick
BBQ sauce for a smoky, bold flavor
Experiment, have fun, and make them your own!
